Balding Design is an established upholstery company specialising in; antique restoration and making bespoke hand made furniture using traditional methods and materials. Tara has been an upholsterer for twenty five years trading under the name of Tara Jane Upholstery. The bespoke furniture side of the business increased and the team grew! Tara now works with her assistant Kelly. In 2016, Gerald, Tara’s husband joined the business.

We are based in Collingbourne Ducis, in South Wiltshire. With an ever growing International clientele.

Our Work

Our bespoke furniture upholstered using handmade hardwood frames with Mortise and tenon joints ensure the furniture is as strong as possible. To maintain a high standard Balding Design Ltd use woven webbing, coil springs, natural hair, wool, down cushions, hand stitched and schedule 5 fire barrier.
